The Maria Auxilium Christianorum Choir was formed in 1978, two years after the foundation of St. John Bosco Parish Makati, and was assigned to sing in the youth mass every Sunday at 5:00 pm. The group was originally a combination of two youth organizations — Friends of Don Bosco (FDB), mostly composed of boys, and Youth Delegate Organization (YDO), of which majority are girls. It was dedicated to the maternal protection of the Help of Christians and aside from serving in the liturgy, has outreach programs, retreats, formations, and fellowship activities as its regular occurrences throughout each year.

Auxilium now encompasses a wide range of members — from students to working professionals, kids to kids-at-heart, and volunteers young and old. Across the years, the groups’ time slot has changed many times, but the fire and passion to serve has remained constant among its singers. Being one of the oldest existing groups in the parish, the choir has dedicated itself to service and mission by animating high masses and special occasions of the parish, thus bringing life to the motto: WE DON’T JUST SING. WE SERVE.

In 2019, the choir celebrated its 41st Anniversary with a concert entitled “A Night of Prayer,” the proceeds of which were given to Jaden and Friends Inc.

At present, the group animates the 3:30PM Tagalog Mass at St. John Bosco Parish, Makati every Sunday; and the 5pm English Mass on 1st and 5th Sundays at the Manila Polo Club.
